My students come to class full of energy and an eagerness to learn. They also enjoy moving around and excel with hands on activities. It is challenging for students to stay in the confinements of their desk chair and I often find students opting to sit on the ground in the classroom. Like adults, students like to get up and choose a different seating option once they are tired of sitting in their designated desk chairs.
I would love to provide students with a more comfortable learning environment through flexible seating furniture. Items like the lap desks, wobble cushions, and stools will allow students several seating options to enhance their engagement. The elastic bands will also help students who prefer sitting at their seats but need some movement within their legs and feet.
This project would significantly support my students' excitement for learning, choice, and overall engagement. Flexible seating seating in our classroom will help students feel more comfortable and at home which allows them to focus on their learning process rather than discomfort!
