In our classroom, we are moving around often and need as much space as possible. At any time you can walk in our room and see students on the floor with an educational game or whiteboards, at their desk, at a kidney table getting small group instruction, standing having educational conversation about our topics, sitting on one of the special chairs to help them focus, or even laying on the carpet while getting lost in a good book. Our students are more engaged when they options in their seating. Letting the students have flexibility in their learning environment gives them the opportunity to get comfortable and really be engaged in what they are learning. While I have a few different options of chairs already, I believe the new tables I would like to get would be a great way for the students to be in groups and collaborate more easily. The chairs will be used as more of our "special" chairs at the tables or in a separate seating area.
