I teach at the most community-driven elementary school that is focused on creating lasting relationships with students. We are relentless in our effort to keep students connected and engaged in order to create success and maximize learning. Our school offers many after school enrichment clubs, such as art, theater, robotics and music. These are completely funded by our community and show the commitment from families to create an engaging learning environment for all students. The teachers I work with are committed to creating relationships with students that span all grade-levels. We know that students who are connected are more successful. I believe in giving students the opportunity to learn what makes them the most successful student. I feel the elementary years are for experimenting with time-management and discovering what creates the most focus so be independent in their learning.
