The excitement of getting school supplies never gets old. Imagine what it feels like to receive a new stash of items just as you are on your last tube of glue stick or your binder is falling apart. Most of my students understand what it means to "make do" with the things they have.
By providing the materials for this project, know that you are literally bringing color, and excitement to a room full of eight-year-olds. They will use crayons and markers to create picturesque artwork to hang with their weekly writing assignments. My students will play with interactive Hot Dot pens to practice math facts and build math fluency. They will solve math problems with Expo markers that are legible on their whiteboards. Your sponsorship of this project would bring sheer joy to these 20 students. There is no denying that happy, prepared children make for motivated, engaged learners.
