As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they come to school ready to learn and they deserve the very best! Many of our students are not given the opportunity to attend preschool before entering kindergarten. Our ultimate goal is to have our students reading, writing, adding, and subtracting by the time they leave Kindergarten. We accomplish this through various hands-on activities that are engaging, interactive and fun. Helping children succeed and develop a love for school is essential for all of my students.
