My classes are very special! I have 120 6th graders and 220 5th graders that are very diverse in language, learning, and needs. We are a Title I campus, which means our children mostly come from low socio-economic backgrounds. They are not used to having a great deal of 'extras' so they appreciate everything we get. I would love to teach them interesting and creative ways to create art with materials and mediums that are left over or usually discarded. This is a great opportunity for them to start looking at the world in a new way. Everything does not need to be brand new- it can be made new with a little imagination! This would be an amazing lesson in seeing the value in everything- old and new!
