Our school is a Title I school located Pearl River, Louisiana. Most of my students come from low-income or living near or at the poverty level.
My classroom is comprised of 10 Pre-Kindergarten children and 6 children with special needs.
Some of these special needs children have sensory issues. We would like to create a Sensory Table for our students. The sensory table certainly stands as an open invitation for hands-on exploration. In addition to honing sensory and science skills, sensory play builds language, social, and dramatic play skills as the children negotiate with one another to share tools, create stories, and build dialogues.
