The wooden writing workstation will be used in my student's favorite workstation....writing. They will showcase their creativity with colored paper and sentence strips. The sentence strips will be used to create poems and stories and placed in the pocket chart for display and shared reading opportunities.
In order for young writers to feel successful in their writing abilities, they first need the stamina to create quality work. My students will definitely build their writing stamina when they are at the new writing workstation.
My students will not only enjoy writing stories, but will also create lists, thank you notes, journal entries and most importantly; their own thoughts.
The magnetic math manipulative library will be used during whole group math time. These large visuals will allow my students to clearly see what I am teaching. After I use the items in whole group, they can be used in a workstation.
Speaking of workstations, the colored cardstock, dry erase pockets and 120 chart will also be used during workstation time. The card stock will be used to create workstation activities and the dry erase pockets will often hold these stations and allow my students to complete the activity.
The large storage container with drawers will be used to store our many math manipulatives, mostly mini erasers. The buddy book bags will be used by my students to hold books on they chose themselves. Having these buddy bags inside their desks allows students to read when they have finished an activity.
