I am very fond of Dr. Spencer Kagan and his structures that are proven to engage students in the classroom. I spend a lot of money on basic resources for my students and have not been able to afford additional cooperative learning resources.
These products will be used to engage 21st century learners in the classroom. Talking chips will get students to have meaningful conversations by providing each students with the chance to participate in group conversations. The Kagan books will help me incorporate strategies and structures in my lessons that will engage students in all academic areas, including language arts and math. Some of the basic supplies like whiteboards, pencils and glue sticks will be used by the students to complete group activities. Laminating sheets will be used to laminate task cards for Kagan structures such as "Showdown" and Fan-n-Pick". The anchor chart paper will be used in a variety of ways, either for me to provide the students with lessons or for the students to use on gallery walks. I believe that when students are engaged and excited in school they want to continue to learn and grow. Students will learn to engage and interact with others, therefore helping them understand and retain the content presented to them in the modern classroom environment.
