We all need to get away at one point or another. Many of our students struggle with emotional regulation and need support in calming down during various parts of the school day. A classroom Calming Corner is where students can go to use pre-taught strategies for a short amount of time. The goal is to give the students a place so their behaviors do not escalate any further. The Calming Corner is a positive place that rewards students for using strategies to help emotionally self-regulate themselves so that learning can occur. Students will be using the requested sensory tools such as a sand garden, marble fidgets, putty, water beads, and Hoberman sphere to to help calm down and return to their work.
