My class is a Tier II English class that is designed to support students who struggle with Language Arts. Most of my students are in their senior year of high school. I want them to read texts that their fellow classmates are reading, with the supports that help them. We read classics such as "Macbeth" by William Shakespeare and "A Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens. We also read modern young adult texts like "Speak" by Laurie Halse Anderson and "The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-time Indian" by Sherman Alexie. I want my students to enjoy reading and writing and become life-long learners that continue to read and write.
