I teach first grade at a Title I school with 24 students and approximately 400 students school wide. Since most of my students are from lower income families, they do not have computers, Internet access, or devices in their homes. The majority of my students are English Language Learners who need interactive materials to support learning the language, new vocabulary and critical daily skills. We use iPads in our group rotations every morning. The students are so excited when it is their time to use the iPads. My students who have limited English language skills are increasing in their development each day. Those students that already have the English language are being challenged in all areas. Collaboration and cooperation between the students in my classroom have improved tremendously as well through this implementation of iPads.
