Ohio's 8th grade standards cover topics in Earth and space science, life science, physical science, and inquiry. While I have collected a wide array of resources over the past two years, I have always dreamed of having a mini classroom library filled with engaging books that connect to what students are learning in my class.
Therefore, I am submitting my first Ðǿմ«Ã½.org project in hopes of acquiring my own library of nonfiction trade books that my students will benefit from for years to come. Almost every book I am requesting can be found on the National Science Teachers Association’s list of Outstanding Trade Books. A few others I have been exposed to during a professional development opportunity that focused on connecting nonfiction informational text with content subjects. All of the books will be used to help excite, engage, explain, or elaborate Ohio’s 8th grade science standards.
I am blessed to teach at a school where the educators have instilled a love and passion for reading. With your help, I can further enhance student knowledge by offering them highly engaging books that connect classroom content with outside of the classroom experiences.
