Hi! My name is Katie Thies. This is my 9th year in education. I have taught 2nd grade for 8 years and one year in 3rd grade. Of these eight years, I co-taught for five. I am a firm believer in co-teaching. Up to 30% of my classroom has an IEP/special need of some sort. Not only am I fortunate to teach these kiddos, but I am extremely lucky to be a mom to a very special boy with cerebral palsy and a 5 month old daughter. I have learned so much from my students and my son over the years. I can't wait to see what this year has in store for us!
