So many times, scholars have come to class and been sad that they don't have materials needed to complete assignments. This interferes in their learning. I want to try and change that and increase their motivation to learn.
Education is not just academics, its behaviorial, too.
My goal is to collect these supplies to increase their pride in learning. Glue is a huge necessity used in my class to complete our interactive literacy notebooks and it goes very quickly in my class. This notebook teaches letters, sounds, and sight words. Children need regular and active interactions with print; therefore, the Mead Primary Journals allow my students to practice expressing themselves through written words and drawing. The pocket chairs are needed to help scholars with accountability and a sense of responsibility for their supplies.
I want to keep the focus on having fun while learning, not worrying about what supplies they don't have or need.
