To become fully literate in today's world, students must become proficient in the new literacies of 21st century technologies. These kindles will help enhance the students' learning opportunities in a variety of ways, thus giving them the equal opportunity, as others, to learn some of the new literacy skills associated with 21st century technology. My students will use these kindles to not only read, but to download apps to help their inferencing, cause and effect, main idea, retelling, fluency, and comprehension skills. Integrating digital technologies into literacy instruction and equipping students with the new literacy skills needed for reading, writing, and communicating in digital environments is one of my main priorities for my students.

About my class
