Our rookie robotics team is in need of more tools and kits for our team to be at the correct ratio recommended by First Lego League. Based on the socio-economic status of our students at school, I do not want to ask more from our families than they already give. This Mindstorms Core kit will allow the children an opportunity to build, code, discuss, and rebuild according to the challenges set by First Lego League. Each challenge will show them different ways to build a robot based on the social challenge, code the robot and decide what worked and what didn't work, as a team. By purchasing this Mindstorms Core set, the children will be close to the First Lego Leagues recommendation of two students per set.
These materials will not only be used during robotics practice but will also be able to carry over into their core academics studies. On a daily basis, the children actively research a topic of their choice and the skills they learn from robotics will allow their research to be more effective.
