I am very humbled by my students' enthusiasm for learning and their appreciation of being able to explore through our classroom's small amount of toys and manipulatives. I'm a new teacher, and on a limited budget so any amount of help would be welcome! I go to work every day with a smile on my face because I know my students face so many obstacles just to get to school and because they love being there, they absorb as much knowledge as they can, daily and tell me they love school. At 4 and 5 years old, they can recite the pledge of allegiance, the days of the week, the months of the year, their numbers up to 30 (a few know how to count past 50 already) and they're beginning to sound out c-v-c words - amazing growth for my students who are faced with poverty on a daily basis and rely on school for their daily meals. I know that what I do and teach them has an impact on them and I know your help will, too! Thank you.
