Fresh new reading novels will help to build students curiosity and enjoyment of reading. There are not many resources for my high school students that struggle with reading literacy. And with little funding for books, many times we reintroduce the same novels to students and students lose motivation. Students want current books that are relatable and relevant to the current times. These new novels will strengthen reading comprehension, stamina, and motivation. With new reading material, students will gain test-taking skills and expand their fluency. These new novels will also help to build a classroom library for student independent reading time.
