I feel so fortunate to have the privilege of being a Kindergarten Dual Language Immersion teacher at an incredible elementary school in California. I am thrilled to be part of the Two-Way Immersion program and believe strongly in its goals. My students are amazing! They are learning to read, write, speak and listen in both Spanish and English, as well as reaching for mastery of all academic content standards, including math and science.
My class is composed of half Native Spanish speakers and half Native English Speakers. This allows for students to work together and help each other become more proficient in their new language. I love seeing my students turn to each other and ask "Como se dice" or "How do you say," because that shows me they are building relationships and learning together!
