My students are an energetic eager fourth graders who live in an urban district. More than half my class is African American and the other half is Hispanic. My students have trouble focusing on their assignments and need to be in constant motion. The majority of my class is reading on a second grade reading level and are frustrated with fourth grade material. My entire class is below grade level in math and struggle with simple multiplication. My school is a New Jersey Priority School which is on the verge of coming out of status as a priory school. Most of the students at my school qualify for free or reduced lunch. Many come from single parent household.
