My students need markers, scissors, pencils, glue sticks copy paper and envelopes for interactive notebooks - an innovative way to keep notes and examples all in one location. The purpose of an Interactive Student Notebook is to enable students to be creative, independent thinkers and writers. After nearly ten years of teaching, I have been searching for innovative ways to engage students, foster writing skills and improve organization. Interactive notebooks have been successful in these areas in many classrooms, nationwide!. Knowledge is at the fingertips when a student uses an Interactive Notebook. The days of lost notes and assignments will be behind us. My students will complete, cut and paste their notes, practices, flip-charts and more into their notebooks for one-stop learning. I have gathered funding for the notebooks, now I am in need of the supplies to make it happen. The colored pencils and markers will be used for color coding notebooks- a practice rooted in educational research. The glue sticks, scissors and envelopes will help in the construction of the notebook pages. Astrobrite paper helps information pop! I am excited to implement this effective classroom strategy and provide my students with all the benefits of notebooks!
