I am a fifth grade Math teacher in a Title I school. My class is composed of a terrific group of students who come from varied socio-economic backgrounds as well as mixed abilities. One thing they have in common is that they struggle with math. Some of them have grown used to settling for the fact that they do not understand math and have grown accustomed to failing math and not challenging themselves. Some of my students came to my class questioning the importance of math. With my help and yours I am hoping to instill a love of math in my students as well as show them the important role math plays in their everyday lives.
