My students are from a suburban, high poverty elementary school. Even though we are located in a large city, we have several students who do not have the transportation or financial means to attend live music performances. I strive to provide opportunities for my students to experience live music performances. As Plato is quoted saying, “I would teach children music, physics, and philosophy; but more importantly music; for in the patterns of music and all the arts, are the keys to learning”.
