My classroom is a safe space where all students are loved and accepted regardless of race, religion, economic or status, social status, etc. Our motto is: We are not a class, we are a family. I am the daughter of an educator. My mom taught me the core values of how to be a great teacher. Don't listen to gossip about students. Other teachers' worst student could be your best student. No student deserves bias or a self-fulfilling prophecy that you put on them. All students have valuable contributions. All students have worth. If you don't love students and teaching get out of the career; you obviously have a Bachelor's Degree at least. Find something that makes you happy. Leave your problems at the door. Don't displace anger/frustration at something else on your students.
Some of your students could have had a worse day than you'll ever have. Love them and tell them they are loved. A smile goes a long way.
