This is my first year as an elementary school counselor and I'm so excited to build my school counseling program. I see children individually, run small counseling groups and do lots of classroom guidance lessons!
The carts will definitely be used as I travel classrooms for lessons and to help me keep each grade's lessons and materials organized! The one with the board would be great, because I can use it when I see individuals and groups as well! The sensory toys, slime, weighted lap dog, and blocks will be used when I am working with small groups or individual students. A lot of times, I see students when they are upset and these little things can go along way in giving students something positive to do with their hands and helping them have an outlet to regulate and calm down. The books and diversity materials will be incorporated into classroom lessons! If our school goes virtual due to Covid or we have an classroom in quarantine, these materials will be used to make virtual classroom lessons as well!
