We have a growing number of instructional programs that require computer time. It is a struggle to have enough functioning technology for our 700 students, but it is also difficult to keep track of working headphones. We have approximately 500 pieces of technology in the building, this project would help almost 3 full classrooms to use with their mobile labs or student desktops!
State testing is upon us, and 300 plus students will be assessed in grades 3-5. Students also complete 45 minutes of math and 45 minutes of ELA online instruction a week on a program called i-Ready. After completing a diagnostic assessment, i-Ready prescribes online instruction that is specifically tailored to each individual student's strengths and weaknesses. Headphones are imperative for students to hear passages, instructions, or perhaps provide accommodations for students with reading disabilities. No matter the program, headphones are a necessity.
New headphones haven't been purchased for the entire school in probably 7 plus years. As they are used on a daily basis, they experience a lot of wear and tear! We are proud of our students for taking care of our equipment, and we can promise they'll be good to a new set of 'phones!
