My class consists of 30, 5-7year old kindergarteners! We sit in collaborative groups of six students to a table. Our space is cozy and we make it work for us. We like to do STEM based learning and work together. In our class we care, share, and prepare. Care- about ourselves, our class environment, our classmates, our language, our attitude, our learning, our world. Share- our ideas, our space, our supplies, our comments, our knowledge, our love.Prepare- to live, to study, to learn, to read, to write, to count, to add, to subtract, to be responsible, to be respectful, to graduate. We focus on social emotional learning and brain based learning strategies. On a typical day you can catch us taking care of our stuffed animal friends, singing, exploring, reciting our class affirmation, investigating theories, or just taking a focused brain break. If you catch us hugging our books it is only because we love to read!
