I had an amazing fourth-grade teacher as a kid that produced incredible shows. I knew then, I wanted to teach too... And do what she did. I have been teaching for 27 years now and have produced almost 100 shows of my own in elementary school. My school has a Performing Arts Center, the PAC, that can easily seat 400 people.
I think every child should have a chance to shine. My third graders usually perform three or four times throughout the year. We do songs, plays, poetry readings, and even a flash mob.
The problem is reserving the room to practice. With this project, I can take the kids on the playground or our amphitheater to practice when the PAC is not available. The sound is great and I don't need an outlet to make it work. Having no cords to trip over or worry about is a beautiful thing. I got to try one out this week. I am hooked.
