The Vex IQ robot kits are designed to help students further their STEM education. Assembling the robots using the given directions, or creating their own robots, will help students with design and engineering skills that tie into physics. After the robots are created, the students can use the controller to test out their designs and solve problems and challenges. They can also use the computer programming software to write their own programs to control the robots. Computer programming activities strengthen logical thinking skills. The programming software is a C based coding platform. It can be used with students who are new to programming or students who are up for a bigger challenge and want to tackle the pure C coding. Coding and programming are not offered as an elective and will be available in a STEM after-school club.
