My project would allow me to have a good variety of alternate seating arrangements allowing students to decide where they need to sit to be most effective based on their learning disabilities and needs. Students with special needs often need sensory interventions in order to concentrate. This often becomes difficult at the high school level as students don't like to be identified as different or special. Alternative seating in the classroom allows students with special needs the movement they need without making them stand-out among their peers.
Feeling comfortable in the classroom leads to increased production! The items chosen for this project allow the students to fidget, move, or cozy up so that they can focus on the task at hand instead of distractions.
