Social-emotional regulation is a skill in which my students have a deficiency. I am hoping to help teach my students what each emotion looks like and ways to cope and manage their feelings. By adding these books and materials to my classroom will help my students visually see the emotion, and allow myself and other adults in the classroom to help calm the student by using some of the stories and sensory items. These include toys and fidgets.
The Spot series will help my students begin to understand their emotions. I will incorporate them in our morning meetings, using the stories and plushies will utilize multiple senses which will help keep their attention to the lesson.
