I work with a wonderful group of students. Many come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and have quite a few obstacles to overcome, such as being responsible for the home and younger siblings when parents work, avoiding gang pressure, or simply finding a quiet place to study. Quite a few of my students are English Language Learners and they go above and beyond on a daily basis to meet their educational goals. They are kind and generous with me and with each other. They are supportive of each other and truly want each other to succeed. My students come to school willing and eager to work and learn. They make my days fun and I always look forward to coming to school each day because of them. I am so grateful to work with such an amazing group of young people and it is my privilege to be their teacher.
