I work in a low income school. We have many students identified with Special Needs. I teach students with ASD, Learning Disabilities and ADHD .The students struggle to learn and manage their disability in a fast paced, rigorous curriculum. They are making strides but need some "out of the box" strategies to give them that "edge". In my time as Resource Teacher, I have been able to assist in weaning a few students off of Resource help. I'd like to increase that number. Because of attention and sensory needs, some of my students are too distracted by their bodies to learn or show what they learn in typical paper and pencil assignments. They are so proud when they accomplish something, I'd like to give them more opportunities to succeed.
