The school I teach at is a Title 1 school (where the majority of families have a limited amount of income). Some families have to buy school supplies for several children, so the burden will be less if I can help alleviate some of those costs.
The funds will help me purchase essential Back-to-School supplies for all my students.
On the first day of school students will have their very own binder, pencil pouch and dry erase markers.
When working on math problems, most students tend to be most engaged when we write on our desks with dry erase markers. Something about writing on their desks gets them engaged. Its almost like if they are breaking some kind of rules. In my experience, dry erase markers are necessary tools to excite students in practicing a new math skill.
