I teach STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) to third, fourth, and fifth graders in a vibrant, coastal, suburban community in Scarborough, Maine. I have 17 classes that I see for 50 minutes once per week. Our learning goals are focused heavily in engineering design and computer science programming. My students are kind, welcoming, and tolerant character-driven individuals. My school leaders, fellow teachers, and families value education, and together we are all eager to provide rigorous and innovative learning opportunities for our students and children. We all come from diverse backgrounds, but share a common thread of community and school pride. My students participate in numerous co-curricular clubs, sports, and service groups, and represent what it means to be truly well-rounded.
