I teach at aTitle 1 school in a rural town and my students love coming to art every week to get the chance to be creative and make masterpieces. The problem with art supplies is that they run out so quickly. There's spills, accidents, and "beautiful oops's" that happen on a daily basis. That's the beauty of art class. It's okay for kids to make mistakes and mess up- but when we run out of materials and have a low budget, they feel as if they're being punished.
Art is the one class where students can really express themselves and "get a little messy" with every once in a while. My students LOVE to create new projects and use new materials. Through these projects I hope to be able to give them the creative outlet they deserve!
