Since environmental awareness is universally relatable and pressing, my students will celebrate Earth Day, April 22, 2020 with an estimate of the number of reams of paper and boxes of pencils they save by using LCD Writing Tablets for their scratch work during math problem solving this school year. This project aims to develop environmental awareness at the same time that students solve real world math problems, both in whole and small group instruction, by using the LCD Writing Tablets. These tablets allow money that would normally be spent to re-supply pencils and paper to be redirected to other academic needs. I'm glad to model how to conserve resources for my students and expose them to modern ways to be earth-friendly that can impact their future choices, and make solving math problems more fun!
