This book will help engage my students in literature. There are so many students who say they do not like to read. The Harry Potter books have really drawn those students into the world of literature. I have found that I can create a world in our classroom that mirrors the books and gets the students involved! My students have shown huge improvement in regards to the reading standards addressed in this book. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone can help teach students about our own relationships and how they shape our lives. There is an SEL tie in to this novel. I will also bring in chemistry and history while teaching this unit. I will foster the love of reading with these materials.
