My dance students are creative, innovative, and excited about learning dance and connecting dance with the concepts they learn in their classrooms. They attend an arts elementary magnet school in a high poverty area. Many of these students do not receive at-home help with their school work, relying solely on their teachers for education and motivation. The school's priorities lie in integrating the arts with core curriculum subjects. The concepts they learn in the classroom are reinforced in an alternate way when they go to their arts classes.
