They are second graders who are longing to belong and discover who they really are. They attend a public, low income school, and for a lot of them, school is the only safe and constant part of their day. They are quickly discouraged by their home environment and are led to believe by family that they may not achieve more than the socio-economic status they already belong to. These students need exposure to opportunities and resources that will inspire them to strive for a positive, successful future as an adult. Some of them will be choosing careers that are not even created yet, so it's crucial that they begin to think about setting high goals and expectations for the years to come!
