My students come from very diverse backgrounds including blue collar, white collar, farmers, and even CEOs. Our community hosts a wide range of experiences and incomes. Located in a township without a post office, our school struggles to make ends meet at times. We are not title 1, but we could be if parents had more connections and knowledge and capabilities to understand the benefits that are given. We have a strong community presence in our school, which helps, but constant budget cuts means less money and less reach out to families. In today's world, being literate in technology is an essential skill. I hope to prepare and enrich our students for the tech-based and creative world.
Even with the obstacles our community may face at times, we are eager to see the students and children achieve a higher level of academic success than generations prior.
