Hands-on and real-life learning is what makes my kids excited! Books and notes are very important and are necessary, but I also feel that they are best used as a stepping stone to real-life experiences! I want my students to be able to step into the wonderful world of science; see the flow of our blood through the body, jump from constellation to constellation, go inside an atom, launch a catapult, and see how penguins live in the arctic! I feel that having the ability to read about, talk about, then actually see will be an amazing experience for my students. Seeing and doing are how my students learn best; I am teaching for life, not just a unit!
