For the 2021 - 2022 school year, I will be teaching an English Support class. This means that I will be working with students of varying grades who needs additional support in English based on their Individual Education Plans.
My students come from varying backgrounds; some live in group homes, some are in foster care, some have emotional/behavioral disabilities, almost all are English learners, and all of them have so much going on outside of school. They are the definition of resilient.
The items on my list are items that will help me support them in their reading and writing goals, life skills, and their social emotional learning. We're not just teaching students the subject that is English, but also skills for after graduation to help them continue to have success in everything that they do.
