My students come from many different cultural and economic backgrounds. My students range from the 6th to the 99th percentile in math, but work together to move each other forward. They work as a team to help each other learn new concepts and solve all types of problems in the classroom. Many of my students are also involved in citywide and national math competitions. The range of students enables them to find multiple methods to solve to the same problem type. Class time limits the amount of strategy sharing. This project will allow students to satisfy their desire to learn new strategies outside the classroom by being able to record their methods and post them for others to watch. This will help students better understand the material they are presenting and gives explanations to students who need help.
The 3 iPads will also be used to go on various websites, such as Khan Academy, to strengthen math skills for students who need help and challenge students for enrichment.
