I currently work within the New York City Public School System as a Computer Science teacher in Queens Village, Queens. My school has many diverse children with many more types of diverse learners. Many of my students do not have the access to extend their learning once they leave school, or that opportunity to be exposed to the vast world of experiences around them. I plan to use technology in the classroom to triple my students' chance to immerse themselves in the world around them. I would love to take virtual field trips with my students, bring hands-on learning through the use of technology, set up author and mentor visits, as well as foster the idea of digital literacy by allowing students the chance to express their thoughts and ideas freely without restriction.
