I strive to make my classroom a second home for my students. Like their homes, I want them to learn and grow in a comfortable setting. Having alternative seating options such as balance balls, wobble cushions and floor seating will give my 21st century learners the opportunity to learn in a home like setting.
These new seating options will have a positive impact on our classroom dynamic. Using the seating students will be more relaxed and ready to freely share ideas. Throughout the day my students are up and moving from partner to partner. They compare answers and problem solve. Having comfortable alternative seating will help us achieve our goal of increasing relaxed academic conversations.
