This is the third year that I've implemented flexible seating in my classroom, and I have seen the benefits of "wiggly" seating firsthand. After being given the opportunity to sit on a mobile seat, many students will be able to give more attention to the teacher or to the assignment they're given. Through flexible seating options such as yoga/stability balls and wiggle cushions, I have found that students who struggle with attention and focus will gain confidence in themselves and academics when they're able to move their bodies while doing schoolwork.
Though stability balls are a cheaper "wiggle" option, they are not nearly as durable and easy to maintain as wobble stools can be. I hope to add these wobble stools to our list of flexible seating options, so that my class can choose from the stools or other seating throughout the day for different activities. I am excited to have a seating option that will not take up as much space as yoga balls and can easily be stored at the end of the day without fear of popping or breaking!
