My students are in K-5th grade and come from a very low socio-economic, gang infested area in California. They are hard-working students that are trying to make a better life for themselves. They face many challenges on a daily basis but still manage to improve academically. Our school is a Title I high-risk school that has made great progress over the past year. My students need a calming corner to help provide a safe space for them to learn how to control and manage their emotions. A calming corner also provides a different area to learn!
