Students are required to complete 45 minutes of reading and 45 minutes of math activities online, each week. Many don’t have computers at home, or come from families that don’t speak English and cannot offer them assistance at home. With these laptops, I can create a computer center, in class, where students rotate during their Reading instructional block, and allow them the opportunity to access their assigned, online lessons with my assistance in completing them. This is a very important part of their daily learning, and these lessons are monitored and auto-adjust to their performance, allowing them to progress as needed, or revisit a lesson that proved challenging and unsuccessful. Quarterly assessment allow me to see their progress and adjust differentiated instruction groups within our class.
